The conditions that apply when you hire a skip bin from Townsville Skips.
These terms apply to every skip bin we hire out. Please read them before you book, and call us on 0499 311 141 if anything is unclear.
Townsville Skips recommends that appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, enclosed footwear and eye protection, be worn when loading or working around a skip bin.
Children must be supervised and must not be permitted to play in or around the skip bin.
The standard skip-bin hire period is seven (7) days unless otherwise agreed at the time of booking.
Extensions must be arranged before the scheduled collection date and may incur an additional hire fee.
Customers may request an earlier collection at no additional charge. However, no refund or credit will be provided for any unused portion of the original hire period.
Prices for Townsville Skips products and services are displayed on our website or provided when a booking is made.

Additional charges may apply if these terms and conditions are breached or if the information provided when booking is incorrect.
Payment must be made before delivery or at the time of delivery unless an approved credit arrangement has been established with DOGO PTY LTD T/A : Townsville Skips.
Commercial customers may be required to provide a purchase order or written confirmation before delivery.
Bookings may be cancelled without penalty by providing at least three (3) hours’ notice before the scheduled delivery time. Prepaid bookings cancelled with the required notice will receive a full refund.
Cancellations made with less 24 hours’ notice may incur a $150 cancellation fee.
Townsville Skips will provide an estimated delivery date and time window when confirming the booking.
We will make every reasonable effort to meet the requested delivery time. However, delivery times are estimates and may be affected by traffic, weather, disposal-facility delays, equipment breakdowns or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where practicable, the customer will be advised of any significant delay.
Final placement of the skip bin is at the driver’s discretion.
Our driver will make every reasonable effort to position the bin in the customer’s requested location. However, the driver may refuse or change the requested location if it is considered unsafe, unlawful, inaccessible or likely to damage property, the truck or lifting equipment.
If the customer requests placement inside a property, Townsville Skips will exercise reasonable care but accepts no responsibility for damage to driveways, paving, lawns, gardens, pipes, drains, irrigation, underground services or other surfaces or structures unless the damage results from negligence by Townsville Skips.
The customer is responsible for ensuring:
The customer is responsible for the skip bin from the time it is delivered until it is collected.
The customer must not:
Any loss or damage beyond reasonable wear and tear may be charged to the customer.
All waste must be contained completely within the skip bin.
Waste must not:
The driver has final authority to determine whether the bin can be safely and legally collected.
If a bin is overloaded or unsafe, the driver may refuse collection or require the customer to remove excess material. Additional collection, waiting-time or extended-hire fees may apply.
Unless Townsville Skips has provided prior written approval, the following items must not be placed in a skip bin:
Customers who are uncertain whether an item is permitted must contact Townsville Skips before placing it in the bin.
The skip bin will normally be collected at the end of the agreed hire period unless another arrangement has been made.
The customer authorises Townsville Skips to enter the nominated property at a reasonable time to deliver, inspect, exchange or collect the skip bin.
The customer must ensure that safe and unobstructed access is available on the scheduled collection day. Gates must be unlocked, vehicles moved and animals safely secured where necessary.
If the bin cannot be collected because access is blocked, unsafe or unavailable, the customer may be charged for:
If Townsville Skips is unable to collect the bin due to circumstances within our control, we will arrange collection as soon as reasonably possible and no additional hire fee will be charged for the resulting delay.

The customer is responsible for all reasonable costs associated with identifying, handling, transporting and lawfully disposing of prohibited or incorrectly declared waste.
Heavy materials include soil, concrete, bricks, tiles, rocks, sand, pavers and similar dense products.
These materials must not be placed in a general-waste bin in significant quantities unless approved by Townsville Skips when the booking is made.
The following maximum weight allowances apply unless otherwise stated in the customer’s booking:
A heavy-load or excess-weight charge may apply if the applicable weight allowance is exceeded.
If the driver considers the bin too heavy to lift or transport safely, the customer must remove enough material to make the load safe. Any additional hire, transport, labour or collection costs will be payable by the customer.
Where payment remains outstanding, Townsville Skips may suspend delivery or collection services until payment is received.
Subject to applicable law, Townsville Skips may enter the nominated property to recover its skip bin. Where safe and lawful to do so, the contents may be left at the property if disposal services have not been paid for.
The customer remains liable for outstanding fees and any reasonable recovery costs permitted by law.
The purchase price of a skip bag covers the bag only. Collection, transport and disposal are separate services and must be booked and paid for separately.
Townsville Skips may collect suitable skip bags from other suppliers, provided the driver determines that the bag, its contents and its location are safe and suitable for lifting and transport.
The collection price will depend on the size, weight, contents and location of the bag.
Skip bags must not be filled above their sides, overloaded, damaged or positioned beneath trees, powerlines or other overhead obstructions.
The customer must provide safe vehicle access and sufficient clear space for lifting.
The driver may refuse collection if the bag’s condition, contents, weight, location or access arrangements make collection unsafe or impractical.
If a prepaid collection is refused solely because Townsville Skips cannot safely complete the work, any refund will be handled in accordance with our cancellation and refund policy.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Townsville Skips’ liability arising from the supply of services is limited to the amount paid by the customer for the relevant service.
Townsville Skips is not liable for indirect, special or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of income or business interruption.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Except for rights and guarantees that cannot legally be excluded, Townsville Skips makes no additional express or implied warranty regarding the suitability of a skip bin for a particular purpose.
The customer is responsible for selecting an appropriate bin size and accurately describing the type and estimated quantity of waste.
If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be removed or limited to the minimum extent necessary.
The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
By booking, accepting delivery of, using or paying for a Townsville Skips bin or service, the customer confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions.
